Where's my Money ?

In this month I haven't got salary! Actually I should get it since the end of Feb. This salary is the stipend of the scholarship I've got from school for a year.

Yesterday, I asked a woman who could help me, but she said only the other man and my adviser can do. Unfortunately, both of them are not here on this week. So I have to wait for the assistance until next week. Today I went to ask the financial office to assist me. But they said they haven't got my annual report which is important to renew my scholarship. That's terrible! Because I used to submit the report since last year but why they haven't got it.

Ok! nobody can answer who's making mistake and it does not matter to know. I submitted the report again but I have to wait my adviser to sign the report. Poor me! I have to save money in this month because I might get the salary until the end of this month.

New High-End Cluster

I've got sick because the air flow directed to my head. That was a bad thing when I moved to the new office. I hope I should be recovered soon. The air flow also was fixed.

BTW let see a new cluster in my lab. Actually it is located behind me. It consists of 16 blade servers, each one contains 2 Quad-core (8 core totally) with 3 GHz clock, 6GB of RAM and two 146 GB (mirror). All machines are connected by Infiniband 20 Gbps and legacy Ethernet (forgot what kind of the ethernet is).

From an equation to a solution

Today at Dr.Tao's office, I went to discuss a research issue with him. Because I have less experience in math, especially optimization / linear programming; I need his support for my PHD research. Thankfully, he's a math expert and he helps me a lot. We just started with a simple equation. We were trying to find main factors for it and then review all related problems. We hope a final solution should be emerged by us soon.

Stare on Earth

Yesterday the class quite bored me. It's an evening class too that I feel tried and asleep. After finishing the class around 9.40PM, I went to my office, took my stuffs, and went back home. While walking to bus stop, I found an under-construction site. It's quite nearby my office, and absolutely hosted in my campus. The front side has a big poster that has the message "Home of the Earth Observatory of Singapore". WOW! How it's interesting. So I looked for the information about the so-call "Home". Its website is http://www.eos-singapore.org/. So this home is the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS). Its goal is to understand & address most serious environmental treats. The main areas of research are tectonic, volcanic, and climatic. This home would help Singapore and South East Asia countries (including my homeland, Thailand) anticipate and adapt to the treats. Great! we could know when disasters will happen and how we can protect ourselves from them.

Opening New Office and New Blogs

Hi! It's Boom, also called me JavaBoom. I've got a new office table , new Quad-core PC with 4GB RAM + 1TB HDD for my work, and also new blogs at http://boomary.blogspot.com/ , http://javaboom.tumblr.com, http://javaboom.livejournal.com/ , and http://javaboom.posterous.com/ .
